Places to eat

Peppers York Place.
Peppers, in York Place, has over the years earned a well deserved reputation for delicious home cooked food. Using only the finest of ingredients and local produce where possible, there attention to detail is second to none. The restaurant itself is beautifully set out and right in the heart of the town and attracts customers from far and wide.
A world famous playwright is a regular visitor and that in itself must speak volumes.

Tricolos Newborough.
If you are looking for a great night out with the family, Tricolos is the place to head for. Great selection of both pasta and pizza along with unusual fish dishes and grills. Very child friendly which is always a relief when dining out with the little ones and helpful and friendly staff.
Early bird discounts are available from 5 until 6.30.

The Copper Horse Seamer.
For a more formal meal in a relaxed friendly setting, try the Copper Horse on the Main Street in Seamer village. Delicious home cooked meals are served during lunchtimes and evenings. Watch out for the special theme nights that have become popular which feature cuisine from around the world.
Lots of colour provided by the framed panto prints that adorn the walls and make for fascinating viewing.

Waterfront Cafe Sandside. (opposite the harbour)
An extremely popular venue for both visitors and locals is the Waterfront cafe which is situated opposite the harbour. Plenty of places to sit both indoors and out with the outdoor setting the choice of most visitors. Enjoy an excellent selection of coffees, teas and soft drinks along with a good selection of hot and colds snacks, all at reasonable prices. Friendly staff add to the attraction. A great place to switch off and just sit and watch the world go by!

Teasmaid Victoria Park Avenue, Peasholme. (opposite the park)
The Teasmaid at Peasholme is well worth a visit. Great breakfast menu using quality eggs and bacon along with lots of other items. Excellent value too with friendly staff and speedy service. Open all day providing lunches, afternoon teas and early evening meals. Watch out for the specials such as the 'two meals for six pounds' which has a selection of set meals to choose from and changes once a fortnight.

Stuarts of Driffield Aberdeen Walk. (Fish and Chips)
You cannot visit the seaside without sampling the local fish and chips! So many to choose from but here are just a couple of favourites. Stuarts of Driffield is fairly new to Scarborough but has already gained a good reputation. Take away or eat in the choice is yours and if, like us, you prefer your fish 'lightly battered and well done' then just ask, they will always oblige. Great value too.

Mother Hubbards Westborough.

Mother Hubbards in town is a firm favourite with fish and chip fans as is Whackers, again situated in the town. Both cafes are extremely popular with both local residents and visitors.

Golden Grid Sandside. (opposite the harbour)
The Golden Grid is a very well known restaurant and is situated opposite the harbour down on the front. If you are looking for something a little more than just cod and haddock then this is the place for you. Lots of locally caught fish available along with a huge selection of main courses which cover everything from pheasant casserole to steak and kidney pie. Great views of the harbour from the upstairs eating area. Fast and friendly service add to the attraction.

J.D. Weatherspoons Westborough.
For good value along with casual pub style eating you will find it hard to beat J D Weatherspoons which is situated at the top of town. Breakfast right through to evening with meals served all day. Steaks, pasta, salad, burgers and yummy puddings along with wines, beers, soft drinks and coffees. Plenty of regular good value offers available throughout the week. None smoking and family areas now available.

The Casino St Thomas Street.
If you are having a break in Scarborough then do not go home without sampling the delights of Scarborough's very own purpose built Casino. It really is a fabulous place. Membership is free but take along your passport or driving licence. The restaurant is all that you could ask for with extremely comfortable seating, wonderful staff and beautifully cooked and presented food. All this and excellent value as well with lots of regular offers. Round the evening off by taking a walk down into the casino and trying your hand on the gaming tables or machines or just sit and have a complimentary coffee or soft drink and watch everyone else!

Cafe Heart

Cafe Heart is situated by the side of the old indoor market and has in a few short years earned an extremely well deserved reputation for serving lovely home cooked healthy food and has already won the East Coast Cafe of the Year award. A recently opened extension has provided much needed extra seating, but as the place is so popular be prepared to wait. Do try one of the amazing smoothies that are prepared to order and bursting with lots of fresh ingredients. Soups, home made cakes, salads, sandwiches, pastas, you will be spoilt for choice. Really friendly owners and staff will make you most welcome.
